Charlie and Annie's Daily Poll: Do you believe in eating ONLY healthy items regardless of taste or do you feel that consuming a fatty "Belly Bomb" every now and then is perfectly fine and makes life worthwhile?

A recently released study reports that a moderate increase (up to 11 grams per day) in soy consumption can lower risk of death from or recurrence of breast cancer. Soy contains substances called isoflavones which researchers say are responsible for this added protection. They also say that breast cancer patients who consume increased amounts of soy can lower their chances of the cancer returning by up to 32%. This is extremely positive news indeed!
Annie: This is great! It’s a relatively simple way to increase your odds in the battle against breast cancer.
Charlie: I don’t know. Have you ever seen TOFU? I don’t even want to know what it tastes like!
Annie: Oh, get out of here; you can’t judge what it tastes like if you’ve never had it. Besides, there are many very appealing and tasty foods that contain soy!
Charlie: I think I’ll pass!
Annie: It’s in so many things that its probably even in the gourmet cat food that YOU love so much!
Charlie: Think so? Maybe I have to rethink my stance!
Annie: Besides, the study involved HUMANS and is good news for them.
Charlie: Mama’s sister, Aunt Elayne, is a breast cancer survivor. We’ll have to make sure she knows about this!
Annie: With all the bad news that seems to pop up every day, it’s nice to get good news like this once in awhile.
Charlie: Indeed!
