How confident can we be in the TSA and airport security?

An incident that occurred at a security checkpoint at the Newark, New Jersey airport last Sunday has cast considerable doubt on the issue.

A man who was not a passenger snuck past a security checkpoint after the guard there temporarily left his post. A surveillance video shows him joining up with a woman who did go through security to enter the supposedly secure “passenger only” area. The terminal was subsequently shutdown for six hours and flights were delayed around the globe.

The guard in question has been placed on administrative leave pending a TSA investigation.

Annie: This is scary stuff for anyone who travels!

Charlie: I’m glad we have no reason to travel by air.

Annie: It certainly is nice having everything we could ever want right here at home!

Charlie: You can say that again!

Annie: I feel sorry for these poor humans who have to put up with the hassles and OBVIOUS dangers of flying.

Charlie: Well, maybe they’ll be lucky enough to come back in another life as cats!

Annie: They can only HOPE!
