A Hero Cat

Answer to the previous Kitty Quiz: The Burmilla

Current Kitty Quiz: Which cat breed arose from a cat belonging to a Scottish shepherd in the 1960’s, which had unusual ears (the cat, not the shepherd!)?

Please feel free to leave your answer in the comments section and check the next post for the answer to the current Kitty Quiz!

A couple in Wonder Lake, Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago, was saved from a house fire by their cat. The man and woman were asleep when the fire started just after midnight on Monday.

They were sleeping on the living room couch when the cat jumped up and began trying to wake the man. The persistent kitty kept it up until the man finally woke up and smelled smoke.

He attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher, but was unsuccessful. He then called 911.

The couple, cat and family dog all escaped without harm; it is estimated that the fire did $68,000.00 worth of damage to the house.

Charlie: What a story!

Annie: Yes! It is a good example of why EVERY family should have a cat!

Charlie: We are ALL heroes in waiting!

Annie: And, on top of it all, we are just so plain lovable!

Charlie: You said it, sister! But, that cat was a lot more magnanimous than I would have been.

Annie: Why do you say that?

Charlie: Well, she even saved the DOG!

Annie: She probably grew up with the dog and they were most likely buddies. Besides, who are you kidding? You know you would have made sure the dog was safe, too!

Charlie: Yeah…I have to talk a good game, though. I just don’t want everybody to know I’m really a big softy! We tomcats aren’t SUPPOSED to like dogs.

Annie: Don’t worry; your secret’s safe with me, tough guy!

Charlie: Thank you.

  2. Hi,

    You entered correctly.

You can also post your answer in the comments section (without your personal info) simply for discussion purposes. I thought that might add an interesting twist as there would no doubt, be some "tricksters" who would enter some convincing incorrect answers here to try and mislead the competition!
