A baby beluga whale will be introduced to the public on Sunday at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. The male whale was born on December 14.

The little guy was born head first, rather than the normal tail first, which caused some complications following his birth. One of the complications was an unnatural curve in his rear flippers. Trainers say the curve is now gone and the baby is swimming fine.

The baby whale now weighs about 185 pounds. He has been gaining around 10 pounds per week and eats every 30 minutes! He consumes an average of 75 pounds of fish every day.

The little whale is described by trainers as, “social, curious, playful”.

Annie: Those baby whales are SO cute!

Charlie: Yes, but just about EVERY baby is cute and then they grow up!

Annie: Do you always have to be so cynical; can’t you just enjoy the moment?

Charlie: I agreed with you! It’s just that even the ugliest critters are cute when they’re babies.

Annie: I guess you might have a point, but …

Charlie: I mean, even puppies are cute and then they grow into great big ugly DOGS!

Annie: Here you go ranting about dogs again! Not all dogs are big and ugly; some of them are very handsome!

Charlie: I’ve never met an attractive dog!

Annie: How many dogs do you KNOW?

Charlie: Well, none really…

Annie: See! You just don’t have an INFORMED opinion.

Charlie: I’ve never been one to let FACTS get in the way of my OPINIONS!

Annie: At least you’re consistent!
