A Miraculous Meeting

Cat Fact: Many cats like to chew grass and it is a good idea to keep a tray of kitty grass available to them. It is thought that they may get folic acid and certain minerals from eating grass.

Ben Bostic and Laura Zych are dating! What’s the big deal? Who are they?

Ben and Laura were two of the passengers on US Airways flight 1549 on January 15, 2009. That is the famous “Miracle on the Hudson” flight captained by Chesley Sullenberger. Shortly after take off from New York’s La Guardia airport the plane struck a flock of geese and suffered engine failure. Captain Sullenberger was able to land the plane in the Hudson river. Everyone on board the plane survived the ordeal.

Many of the survivors of flight 1549 have become very tight knit. They even have regular gatherings that they refer to as “Celebrate Life” nights. Ben and Laura did not know each other before boarding the fateful flight, but they are part of the survivor’s group and are now dating.

The survivor’s stories are chronicled in the new book Miracle on the Hudson.

Annie: What a beautiful and inspiring story!

Charlie: Yes, perfect for the holiday season!

Annie: Well, I’m waiting!

Charlie: For what?

Annie: I know you must have some cynical remark.

Charlie: Why do you say that? You know I’m just an old romantic at heart!

Annie: Who are you kidding? I know you better than that!

Charlie: I resent that remark! I’m really very sensitive.

Annie: Please….

Charlie: This story has me a little choked up.

Annie: Oh, really? Tell me why!

Charlie: Well, I’m sad that kitties can’t book flights; apparently, under the right (or wrong) circumstances it’s a good way to meet chicks!

Annie: I should have known better!

Charlie was last seen being chased under the bed!
