The Dolls are fascinated by human politics and at the same time bewildered by it. I follow it very closely and they are right there with me. We have been keeping track of developments during and after last Tuesday’s election.
Charlie: Humans are really funny! They divide themselves up into groups they call “Democrats” and “Republicans” and then fight tooth and nail about everything!
Annie: There seem to be some who are REALLY confused and call themselves “Independents”.
Charlie: They must be the ones who don’t want to fight with anybody!
Annie: Sometimes it seems the D’s and R’s fight with each other just for the sake of arguing.
Charlie: If one group said it was dark outside, the other would counter that it is bright and sunny!
Annie: You are right, people really are funny! What would we do if we didn’t have them around to amuse us?
Charlie: We could probably get in some more nap time, but it is worth losing a little “shut eye” to witness their antics!
Annie: All cats agree: We demand food, playtime and plenty of sack time!
Charlie: Not necessarily in that order, though.
Annie: What are you talking about?
Charlie: I prefer play, sleep and food in that order!
Annie: Are you crazy!
Charlie: Hey, we are starting to sound like those silly D’s and R’s!
Annie: Oh, yes. Perhaps we can agree that as long as we get unlimited and uninterrupted amounts of all three of our “necessities” we don’t have a beef with anyone.
Charlie: Now that’s a platform all cats can fully support!
