CAT FACT: Taurine is an Amino acid that many animals, including humans, produce in their bodies. Cats do not produce it and must get this essential nutrient from the food they eat. Cats that do not get sufficient amounts of Taurine may develop retinal and heart disorders. Most name brand cat foods now add Taurine as a supplement, but you should check the label to be sure yours does.

Charlie, Annie and I have been reading all the buzz surrounding the prospect of Chicago getting the 2016 Olympic games. It seems that most people are excited about this. It is such a big deal that the president is even going to Copenhagen to help in securing the games for his hometown. C & A have a mixed opinion, though.
Charlie: This is great! I love sports!
Annie: It would definitely have an upside, but there may be some negatives as well!
Charlie: I just see hours curled up in front of the TV with mama and papa cheering the athletes on to victory!
Annie: There is millions of dollars of infrastructure to be built. Since we live in Illinois, they will be jacking up our taxes to pay for it; mama and papa will have fewer resources to dedicate to US!
Charlie: I hadn’t thought about that.
Annie: Construction will go on for years. Mama has to commute through that area to get to work. And when the games are actually in progress, the city will be thrown into complete disarray with all those people. Mama could be quite irritable for years to come!
Charlie: Maybe this Olympic thing isn’t such a good idea, after all!
