A Chill In The Air

Cat Fact: Ragdolls have long, thick, silky hair that helps keep them toasty when cold weather arrives. It also feels terrific to humans who pet them!

Today is the first day that has really felt like fall in our area. There is a definite chill in the air! This is not going over too well with Charlie and Annie. They know their days of lounging on the screened in porch are coming to an end for this year. We have a long, cold winter ahead of us trying to cope with “Cabin Fever”!

Charlie is toughing it out on the porch still watching the antics of the squirrels and chipmunks, but Annie is snuggled up inside with me. She attempted to join Charlie outside for a short while earlier this morning.

Charlie: This crisp fall air is refreshing, isn’t it?

Annie: You’ve got to be kidding me!

Charlie: No, really. It makes me feel like being more active than in the heat and humidity of summer.

Annie: Yes, you need to keep moving to keep from freezing to death!

Charlie: I normally sleep about 14 hours per day when it’s hot out, but I’m down to a mere 12 hours now. I can get so much more done!

Annie: How do you measure “productivity”? You spend most of your waking hours watching critters in the yard, eating, wrestling with me or demanding attention from mama and papa. The rest of the time you’re sleeping! What do you EVER get DONE?

Charlie: Oh, and you’re any better?

Annie: A pampered lady does not NEED to “get anything done”!

Charlie: I’m only fooling myself. I have to try to keep a “stiff upper lip” to avoid getting depressed about the coming dismal weather.

Annie: Ah, cheer up! Winter isn’t sooooo bad! Soon mama and papa will be having fires in the fireplace and we will be snuggling up with them to enjoy. It will be a scene straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting!

Charlie: Ok, that sounds pretty good.

Annie: And before you know it, the Christmas tree will be up with all of those delicate ornaments hanging there for us to bat around!

Charlie: You always know how to cheer me up!
